About Digital Climate Action

The Indonesian Environmental Resilience Foundation introduces digital climate action as a response to climate change with global participation through digital platforms, deemed to have a broader impact. We employ online activism, campaigns, and technological solutions to educate and engage individuals, communities, and organizations in efforts to reduce carbon emissions, promote sustainable practices, and advocate for environmental protection policies. Information is disseminated through social media, websites, and other digital platforms. Collaboration among stakeholders is encouraged through online forums and joint projects. Digital climate action serves as a cornerstone for communities concerned about the environment and committed to combating climate change.

Problem

The concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere reached 408 parts per million (ppm) in 2018, the highest in three million years. The global average temperature in 2016 was 1.78 degrees Fahrenheit (0.99 degrees Celsius) warmer than the mid-20th century, resulting in extreme weather patterns and threats to the survival of all living beings, including humans. Eleven percent of all greenhouse gas emissions are caused by deforestation, equivalent to the emissions from all cars and trucks on the planet. Around 800 million people worldwide are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, such as droughts, floods, and heatwaves. Despite 180 million people (67% of the population) having internet access, there is still 53% of the Indonesian population who do not believe that global warming is caused by human activities.

What We Do?

We utilize digital platforms to disseminate information, mobilize participation, and encourage concrete actions in addressing the challenges we face. By leveraging online activism, educational campaigns, and technological innovations, we strive to educate and engage individuals, communities, and organizations in efforts to reduce carbon emissions, promote sustainable practices, and advocate for environmental protection policies. The information we provide is accessible through various digital platforms, including social media, websites, and specialized applications. Additionally, we facilitate collaboration among stakeholders through online forums and joint projects. Through our digital climate action efforts, we aim to be a driving force for communities concerned about the environment and committed to combating climate change.
