Collaborative Landscape Action Plan (CLAP) and Multi-Stakeholder Forum Framework for Sintang District, West Kalimantan

Participatory Sustainable Livelihood Assesment

Sintang Regency has strongly committed to supporting sustainable development agendas, particularly in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This support is driven by active participation from various elements of society and contributions from the private sector as development partners. The focus moving forward is on transitioning development policies towards sustainability, prioritizing innovation and partnerships with similar visions. The new vision of Sintang Regency, targeting the realization of a smart, healthy, harmonious, prosperous, advanced, and sustainable community by 2026, serves as the driving force for future initiatives.

With the emergence of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), conventional sectoral approaches are deemed irrelevant, and landscape approaches become essential. This approach aims to minimize trade-offs between economic, social, and environmental goals, integrating sectors such as agriculture, forestry, energy, and land restoration. Relung Indonesia, with the Penabulu Foundation and funding from the Rainforest Alliance, is developing the Collaborative Landscape Action Plan (CLAP) and Multi-Stakeholder Forum Framework for Sintang Regency.

Developing the Collaborative Landscape Action Plan (CLAP) and Multi-Stakeholder Forum Framework involves studies, interviews, and FGDs. The steps in developing this action plan are driven by Sintang Regency’s new vision, with sustainability mission and performance indicators as long-term working agendas. The cascading model is chosen in designing the collaborative landscape framework for Sintang to support program achievements and partnership actions.

This multi-stakeholder forum reflects an integrated landscape approach, considering ecological, economic, and socio-cultural dimensions in its structure. Its aim is to coordinate, synchronize, and monitor various initiatives in Sintang. Unlike sectoral forums, this Multi-Stakeholder Forum reflects an integrated landscape approach. All dimensions of the Sintang landscape are considered in developing this forum structure. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that Sintang Regency can develop sustainable strategies and governance to achieve its vision and mission.
